I believe the Sun travels around the Earth

Question

November 25, 2007

the earth is constant.its fixed.the sun is the one which revolutes around it.
if earth is moving, then how is the behavior of light.the speed of light is 3 multiplied by 10^5 km/s.which means the light will fit every single point on the earth, which is not true.when there is a morning in china, its night at america.if the earth rotates of speed 30km/s,then the light will reach america since its speed is much higher than that of the earth.
the other seasons do not come due to the motion of the earth.
in fact the earth is centered.there exist a large circle in space in which the sun lies on and moves around the earth.there exist another huge imaginary circles in space in which the moon lies on.
now, note clearly about this question.what is the smallest creature we have ever discovered?
its the atom.the atom consist of nucleus and electron cloud.the nucleas is centered, and the electrons revolute aroud the nuclues on the electron clouds(the circles).but the helium atom has 2 electrons and hence two electron cloud.therefore our huge huge universe is a module of the helium atom which is the smallest creature we have ever discoved!
why do you thing we are subjected to the universal gravitation?
the protons affects the electrons with a force in the atom.
therefore, the earth has a charge, affecting both the sun and the moon with a costant force 10N/kg.which can be identified:f=k(q1)(q2)/d^2
but we need to figure out the distance to know the real charge.

Abdul Rahman - Lebanon

Answer

The ideas that you have were popular in science a long time ago. Since then, new discoveries and measurements have brought about new concepts. Many of our lessons explain those concepts, which are now accepted as true.

The Sun only appears to move around the Earth, because of our perspective. It was proven over 300 years ago from measurements of the movement of the planets, that the Earth and the planets revolve around the Sun. This has also been shown by pictures taken from space vehicles.

Einstein's Theory of Relativity states that the speed of light is constant no matter how fast an object travels.

100 years ago, the atom was though of as the smallest item. Since then, there have been numerous particles discovered that are much smaller than the atom.

Does the Earth have a uniform velocity?

Question

October 16, 2007

Can we say that earth is moving with uniform velocity as it always have the same average velocity

usha - India

14551

Answer

Since the Earth is traveling in a slight ellipse around the Sun, it actually speeds up when it is closest to the Sun. But most do not consider that and say the Earth has a uniform velocity. Average velocity is more correct.

Is the Earth moving closer to the Sun?

Question

August 5, 2007

Is it true that the Earth is moving closer to the sun each year? and if it is true does that mean in so many years we will all die of heat waves.

- USA

14162

Answer

Yes, the Earth is slowing down and thus is getting closer to the Sun. But it is less than a mile a year. Since the Earth is 92,000,000 miles from the Sun, people on Earth will not be affected by it for about a million years from now.

Why is San Diego warmer than New York?

Question

February 8, 2007

Since the sun rotates on it's axis, and revolves around the sun, how is it that certain regions of the earth are always hot or cold and others have changing weather/ seasons of greater magnitude. Example, San Diego Ca. always 72 and pleasant, New york goes from Hot summer to cold winter. What controls that?

Halle - USA

13096

Answer

Since the earth is round, the sun shines more directly in areas closer to the equator than in areas further north or further south. San Diego is closer to the equator than is New York City. That means the sun shines on San Diego more directly than in New York, where the sun shines and on a glancing angle.

When the sun shines correct more heat is absorbed, but when it shines on an angle much of the sunlight is reflected back into space.

The weather in San Diego is warmer than it should be just because of the sun. That is because there are warm ocean currents that bring warmer weather to San Diego.

How does the Earth stay in space?

Question

October 27, 2006

WHAT CARRIES THE EARTH? OR IN GENERAL, THE OTHER PLANENTS TOO?.

Sire,i am a bit skeptical about what really carries the Earth or in general the rest of the planets.

I Believe suspended masses in a free fall relativity to each other can't carry
each other unless one rests on another. This is beyond my believe of "Gravity"

So, help me please.

Charles - Australia

12244

Answer

The concept of space is difficult to understand. A planet or star floats in space. There is no up or down. Motion is only determined as relative to another body in space. Gravity is a force that attracts objects together. Their motion can overcome the force of gravity.

Answer

All the planets including the Earth spin while going around the Sun. Also, the Sun spins on its axis. Any globe that spins is spinning on its axis, which is the point that it spins around.
