Answer

You should first have a one-page resume that tells your address, what job you want, your education, and your experience.

Then your cover letter that goes with the resume should say:

Dear Employment Manager:

I am seeking a position as a telephone operator with your company. I have experience working as an office assistant, and I feel that this experience working in a business environment will help my capabilities as a telephone operator.

Enclosed is my resume, giving my education and work experience. I look forward to hearing from you concerning this position, since I am anxious to be working in such a job.

Sincerely,
Gayathri Nambiar

A letter like that should be effective. Good luck in getting the job.
