Do you have a business and are interested in selling your product via the Web? Or would you like to start up a business, selling things via the Internet? Many people are interested in such enterprises, and some have done it and made it big. The owners of Amazon.com is a great example.

Inexpensive software

Online Merchant by Alpha Software www.alphasoftware.com (800-229-2924) is considered a smart choice for businesses with small inventories. It is considered easy to use, but has a limitation of allowing you to set up only one store. It costs about $100. (Reviewed in PC Computing, Jan 99. www.pccomputing.com.)

WebBusiness Builder by IMSI www.imsi.com (800-883-8082) allows an unlimited number of stores, but is more difficult to use and is not supported by many ISP's.  It costs about $100. (Reviewed in PC Computing, Jan 99. www.pccomputing.com.)

Commerce services

Yahoo Store http://store.yahoo.com is considered a good place to start Web selling. It is supposed to be easy to use. Fees starts at $100 per month for up to 50 items. (Reviewed in Windows Magazine, Mar. 99, www.winmag.com.)

iCat Commercial Online www.icat.com (888-289-4228) allows you to easily set up a free Web store for up to 10 items. The cost is $50 per month for 11 to 50 items for sale.
