Ron Kurtus' FrameMaker Credentials

(revised 18 January 2014)

Since Adobe FrameMaker is the industry standard for long documents used in technical writing, Ron Kurtus learned to use FrameMaker while doing technical documentation. He also learned aspect of FrameMaker through training classes.

Although he is not an expert in using FrameMaker, Ron is well-versed in the basics of the application and in how to perform the usual FrameMaker tasks in technical writing. This, combined with his skills on explaining processes and procedures, gives him credentials for providing lessons on the topic.

He is a professional writer who has done technical documentation at GE Medical Systems, Wenn/Soft, Radisys Corp., as well as through his Kurtus Technologies business.

Kurtus is past-president of the Wisconsin chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). He also headed up the Independent Contractors SIG of the Willamette Valley STC chapter.

Kurtus has published two books: Tricks for Good Grades: Strategies to Succeed in School and Gravity and Gravitation: Derivations, Equations and Applications. Ron formatted Tricks for Good Grades in FrameMaker.

He founded the the School for Champions educational website and writes most of the material in the site. Material he has written has been cited in 151 published books.
