Answer
What happens to many students is that they had been doing well in the lower grades, but suddenly there are too many distractions and activities that keep them from their studies.
First of all, to improve your motivation, write down your goals for entering engineering college. If you can, get a picture of the school and place it where you can see it every day. Your written goal and the picture will remind you what you want to achieve.
The next thing is to lean to study smart. Create a schedule and set aside a certain amount of time for breaks and doing other things. Then during the time you allocate for studying, do that without interruptions. Study hard and then go and have some fun.
It takes some discipline, but if you have a good goal and are motivated, and if you manage your time to include a sufficient amount of study time, you will succeed.
Best wishes on becoming a top engineer.

Answer
Some students become anxious and stressed when taking tests, such that their mind will go blank and they will forget the material.
One solution is to learn to work under the pressure of taking an examination. Your niece can try to take practice exams using a timer to provide the type of pressure seen in an actual test. She could also do some of her homework, trying to finish within a time period. Being aware that this is practice for an examination should allow her to reduce her anxiety.
It is also good to make an outline or list of important items that should be on the examination. She does not need to remember everything, but she should review the key items. Often the teacher will let the students know what is important.
Finally, before starting the examination, she should visualize herself doing well on the test. Then before she starts, she should close her eyes and take 4 or 5 deep breaths to relax her.
Test-taking is a special skill that is worth knowing for students. Hopefully, these ideas will help her. Let me know how she does on her next examinations.

Answer
I guess your teacher was hoping the lesson would sink in. But having to write it three times probably got your hand sore more than anything else.
The best thing is to avoid trouble in school, so that you have smooth sailing. Get the work done and then have fun after school.

Answer
Many who did not pay attention in high school can become more serious when older and still do well in college. Having a solid goal will move your forward.
It would be worthwhile for you to review the science and mathematics material you studied in high school to make sure you have a complete understanding of it. Often you will be surprised at how much you remember.
Consider the things you did before that made you not a very good student. Certainly, you want to be more mature now.
Getting a solid study routine and being thorough and methodical in your work will help you excel. Take notes in your classes, including questions you have and will look up.
Although it may be tough at first, I am sure with your new motivation that you will be a success.
