It is very good to realize that doing good in school now will affect your future. So many students don't realize that and end up having trouble getting a good job later on.
It is good to set some goals of what grades you would like to get in your various classes. This gives you something to shoot for and will give you some motivation. But also have some dreams of what you would want to be later on. People who have goals and dreams are the ones who become successful and are happier.
Our lessons on getting good grades can help by giving you tips and pointers of how to do your best in school, while still being able to go out and have fun.
You sound like a person who has what it takes to become a champion. Best wishes for getting good grades.
Recently, I don't do my homework

I am a girl who realy wants to get storted in life.

Look at why you have not been doing your homework lately. What are the things you are doing instead?
One common reason students start not doing their homework is because of social life and activities. Often telephone calls or messaging with friends takes up too much time. In such a case, it is good to set aside a specific time for homework, where you do nothing else and don't allow interruptions. That can be right after school or later at night.
Sometimes smart students get overconfident and think they can do well without doing their homework. That can be a mistake, because then there is the stress of trying to study for the test in the last minute. It is better to do just enough homework and to outline or mark important areas in your books, so that preparation for the test is relatively easy.
Finally, many students like to stay up late, and many parents get angry about that. Some students like to study late or wait until the last minutes. Others want to socialize or watch television until late. As long as you are not too tired in school, I guess it is OK,
I hope these ideas help. Best wishes in continued good grades.
How do I get better grades?

It is a good idea to try to get a seat toward the front of the class if possible. Students that sit closer to the front seem to get better grades.
Try to take notes in class, writing down things the teacher says that sounds important. Often that material will be on the test, so we were notes can be handy for studying.
Obviously, you need to do your homework. Set aside a time to do your homework, where you will not be sidetracked by the telephone or television. Once you finish, then you can watch television.
I hope these ideas help you do well in your classes.

Answer
You probably are putting off doing your math homework because it is difficult for you.
In managing the time spent on homework, some students will do the easy homework first, so they can really concentrate on the difficult. But what can happen is that they never get to the hard subjects. Suddenly something else will come up and that work never gets done.
The best thing to do is to plan to set math as your number one priority in doing your homework, especially since you are getting poor grades in the subject. Set aside a certain amount of time to work on the math, such that you will still have time for the other subjects. Even if you don't feel like it, do the math homework first--or at least as much as you can.
This will also allow you to note what areas in math that you don't understand. Write done things that really give you problems and try to ask the teacher for an explanation the next day. The fact that you have questions and are trying will also let the teacher know you really care about your grades.
I hope these ideas help. Best wishes in getting good grades in math and your other classes.

Answer
Getting an F in both math and English points to some big problems. I am sure you are disappointed with those grades, as are your parents. The big thing is that you don't want to be held back in school because of such grades.
It is good that you had planned on doing your work at a certain time. Perhaps you should ask your parents to enforce it on you. If you have a TV in your room, get it out of there. You don't want some TV shows to cause your poor grades.
Also, you might try to do your studying someplace else. Some kids go to the library to get away from the noise at home.
Write down the grades you want to get in your classes at look at that note every day as a reminder of your goal.
Finally, talk to your teachers and tell them you are trying a new routine to get your grades up to where they should be. Ask them for some pointers. That may help and it will at least let them know you are trying.
I'm sure you will be able to turn things around and get some good grades again. Also, if you can get a B in math, you should be able to do the same in English. Don't accept the idea that you aren't that good in it.
Best wishes on getting those grades up.
Problem doing homework on weekends
Question
January 1, 2006
my name is decearee. i have a problem in doing my homework. i'm not a lazy person and i always do my work and pass it on time. i never gave a late work in school. i always get high grades in all my work. my teacher never complain about all my homework. infact, they are very glad that i always do a good job. i get 4's, 3's, and 90 and above, nothing below those grades. but my problem is that, when they give me homework to do over the weekend or after a vacation, i always do it every last minute. so i get worried and confused because i don't know how to use all my time to do my work. you see, i want to spend my time doing my best to make my work all complete, neat, and beautiful. i hate it everytime i rush. i hate rushing, it gives me distraction and makes me more worried. i get worried because i got used to all the teachers praising me for my outstanding work. i'm afraid that because of my problem, i might get in trouble or other people might do better than me. it's not that i think i'm the best in my class but i don't like people laughing at me because i'm in a smart class or in an sp class. it's very embarassing if the teacher complain about your sloppy work. well that never happened to me. you see that it's really nice to hear all the teachers praising you and giving you compliments. the main problem is that, how can i do my work on time and stop doing it every last minute?

Answer
It is good that you do well in your homework most of the time. But sometimes it is difficult to schedule your time when given an assignment to do over the weekend or on a vacation. A good thing to do is to look at the assignment the first thing, like on Friday for a weekend assignment. You can estimate how long it will take you to do the work, by comparing it to other assignments. In this way, you can plan on a time to do the work.
It is only human nature to put off work until the last minute, especially on weekends or vacations. Set aside a few times to do your work. It is better to get it done sooner than later, so you can relax and not worry about it.
Although it is nice to get complements on your good work and to feel you are the best in your class, they should not be you prime motivations. You may get a teacher who doesn't praise students. Also, you may get in a class where many are very smart and better than you. That might get you discouraged. Instead, your prime motivation should be to test yourself and feel proud that you did a good job. Then getting praise and being the best will be extra benefits.
I am sure you will continue on being a champion in school.

Take a step back and look at what you do in school and why you are not getting the grades you want to get. Is it because the material is too hard for you? Does the teacher go too fast? Do you pay attention in class or does you mind wander off? Do you get nervous when taking tests? Does your homework take too long? Do you skip homework?
There could be a number of other reasons to consider. It is important to find your weak areas, so that you can work on them to improve yourself.
One good habit to have is to take notes of important things the teacher says in class. This will help you remember when you study for a test. It also keeps you focused on the lessons.
Ask your teachers if they could give you suggestions on how you can get better grades. They may have some good ideas of what they expect, plus it is good that they know you really care about learning.
I hope this gives you a start in getting your grades up to being a top student. I am sure you have the ability to be a champion in school.
