Answer
You can start with the Table of Contents. Outline the contents and main subject headings. The first sentence under each heading gives an idea of what is in that section.
This would give you an overview and direction for the subject and textbook. The big problem with a multiple choice test is that it concerns some very specific points. But even if you haven't read all the material, knowing the crux of the book from your outline, you can often figure out the correct answer.
I hope that helps. Best wishes in your exam.
Why don't some teachers allow gum?
Question
October 14, 2005
When taking tests, why is it that some teachers allow gum and others don't. I just think it sucks.

Answer
I never could understand why teachers care if a student chews gum or not. I think one problem is that many kids stick the gum under the desk when they are through with it. That can make a mess on the next person's clothes.
But if a student needs gum to relax when taking a test, it might not be a bad idea to let her do that. Maybe the grades woudl be better.
