Mini-Quiz: Taking Notes in Class

by Ron Kurtus (revised 18 May 2012)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. Why would the teacher talk about things not in the textbook?

Some teachers just like to talk a lot

There may be important items not covered in the book

It shows the teacher did not read the book herself

2. How can note-taking help in a boring class?

It makes the class even more boring

It shows the teacher that you are not interested

It gets you actively involved and makes time go by faster

3. Why should you look over material before class?

It makes it easier to take notes, because you know where the lecture is going

It gives you an excuse to skip class altogether

It forces you to buy a textbook

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Getting Good Grades. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.

Note-taking prepares you for the exam
