Answer
A bad cold can irritate your lungs or throat enough that you cough up a little blood in the sputum. The same can happen from blowing your nose. But it shoudl be a rare occasion. If it happens other times, it also can be a sign of other health problems.
The next time you cough up some blood, it might be a good idea to check with a doctor to make sure it is not something serious.
Your lifespan and your father's

Hello :) To what percentage, if this can be calculated, does your father's life span affect your own? Can you give a rough estimate? Thank you in advance for your time and concern. Yvonne robbins

Answer
Lifestyle can greatly affect the age when a person dies, although genetics can be a big factor. Don't forget there are two parents. The family on a friend's mother's side all lived long lives but on his father's side, they died young. Which side did he take after?
An interesting note is that former President Lyndon B. Johnson's father died at the age of 64. Doctors estimated that there was a high chance that Johnson would also die at a young age. Despite good medical care, he died at the age of 64.
