Sample Quality Policy Manual (Using the Rationale Approach)

A Quality Policy Manual should state the goals and policies that a company or business has toward maintaining consistency and order within its various operations. Following the ISO 9000 standards format is useful because it gives a good viewpoint on important factors for typical company operations. It is also essential if the company wishes to gain ISO 9000 registration.
Including the reasons or rationale for the various policies is very useful in getting buy-in from workers and managers, as well as to allow for logical adjustments to the policies when conditions or beliefs change.

The following Quality Policy Manual can be used as a sample of one following the rationale approach. It is by no means the only way to present company policies--and may not even be the best way--but it should give you an idea to help you develop your own policy manual.
