Answer

It is a difficult topic, since there are many viewpoints and there really is no proof of any of them.

It certainly would be nice to meet with your loved ones and friends who had passed away. But also there would be people you didn't like there. Maybe you could be friends with them also.

Perhaps you would be able to recall all of your experiences on Earth with others there, and reflect on both the good and the bad as simply experiences of life.

Some religions believe that you will come back to Earth as a different person and be able to live and experience another life. That certainly is an interesting thought. In fact most religions accept that possibility.

The biggest thing is to enjoy your experience here on Earth and appreciate what you have been given. Also, try to spread joy to others. I believe that what happens after your body dies will reflect on how you lived your life.

Best wishes and God bless you.

How was Lazarus's resurrection different than Jesus'?

Question

June 15, 2009

Was Jesus's resurrection different from the "resurrection" of Lazarus? Apparently so, for Lazarus dies another natural death? Why didn't the populace listen to Lazarus after he was "raised from the dead"? Did he have no conscious recollection of the experience? Was he merely thankful and awestruck? Wouldn't he actively participate in motivating others to become more active in their faith?

- USA

Answer

According to the Bible, after Jesus was crucified, he appeared as if resurrected from the dead. But he was something beyond being a live human body, since he was able to walk through walls--as observed by his disciples--and appear as if out of nowhere.

On the other hand, Lazarus was brought back to life, as if nothing had happened to him. But people were aware of the miracle, and it motivated the chief priests and Pharisees to want to put Jesus to death. There were later legends that Lazarus went on to preach the gospel and become a priest in Cyprus.

What if a Muslim has not prayed for years?

Question

March 30, 2009

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO A MUSLIM IF SHE OR HE BELIEVES BUT DID NOT PRAY FOR 10 YEARS? BUT AND TO BE A GOOD MUSLIM AND STOP DOING BAD THINGS, BUT DO GOOD THINGS. WILL GOD FOR GIVE THEM FOR THEIR SINS?

fosia - UK

17534

Answer

The Qur'an states that an afterlife in Heaven is for those who do good deeds and who submits themselves peacefully in worshiping and believing in Allah.

It isn't about who you were yesterday. It is about how you live today. A Muslim can repent and lead a good life, in order to reach Eden.

Prayer helps a person to be good, but it does not guarantee the person will be good or will go to Heaven.

You must do good deeds to go to Heaven

Question

November 16, 2008

Yes in the Gosble of John at the very begining it talks about the spirt. According to my reading your spirt only goes to heaven if you have done good deeds, fasting, fallow 10 commandment, and free of sexual immorallty. Sorry for spelling I am bad at that.
Thanks

Answer

Many Christian religions believe that a person's sins are forgiven if he or she accepts Christ as the Savior. But there are religions that believe you will go to Heaven only if you do good deed and follow the Ten Commandments, as you mentioned.

Which Christian religions don't believe in Hell?

Question

October 21, 2007

I wondered after reading this line from your webpage, "Most Christian religions believe in Hell, although there are some that dispute the concept", which Christian religions don't believe in hell?

Kathryn - USA

14602

Answer

Christian Scientists believe you suffer hell on earth in illness, and they don't believe in the soul going to Hell. Unity and Science of Mind churches follow the beliefs of Jesus but do not accept the concept of sin and the punishment of the soul.

These churches are really not mainstream Christian churches.

Thinking about my late mother's spirit

Question

August 7, 2006

Hi
My name is jennene and I have an experience in watching my mother die with cancer. My question to you is After death does the dead have a conscience of this world? Do the dead know us after they die, Do they remember us after they have die.

After leading my mother into God's glory. What I mean is my mother was dying and the Holy Spirit whispered to me and said tell her to cast all her cares upon me. I said that to her several times. As her feet were getting cold God used me to guide her. After praying with her she asked me to rub her head. I did then she said something heavy was on her head. At that moment I saw a vision of a crown. I explained to her how beautiful the crown was upon her head.
She became happy and started praising God. My mother praised God until you couldn't understand what she was saying any more. Then a few days after that I could see her spirit in a long white robe. 1. I believe that once a good person die their mind and body is traformed. 2. I believe they can see us but they don't know who we are. 3. I believe they become angels on assignments. If they are our loved ones, 4. I believe that when God sends them out on assignment and they get assigned to us their loved ones. They no longer know who we are. Just that they are on their assignment from God. 5. I believe they have know memory of the things they suffered with or what we struggle with.I believe God sends them to protect us, deliver us, Guide us, comfort us, and work out whatever is broken. Somedays after burying my mom I could see her standing before me in a white robe. I believe she see me but doesn't know who I'am. She is just on an assignment from God.
Sign What I Believe!

Answer

One concept is that we are all spirits having a human experience. If that is true, then a person's spirit or soul could recall and enjoy the experience. If that was the case, your mother would be aware of you. But note that no one has ever actually communicated with a person who has passed away. Although many have seen their spirits. Perhaps the spirits are no supposed to interfere in the lives of the living. But they can look after a person--like a guardian angel.

The most important thing is that you live a happy and productive life. That is what your mother would have wanted and probably still wants for you.

Views on life after death

Question

March 13, 2006

I THINK WHAT WILL HAPPEN IS EVERYTHING TURNS WHITE, THEN YOU SEE GOD. ONCE YOUR FACE TO FACE WITH GOD, HE WILL MAKE A DECSION IF YOU DONE MORE GOOD OR BAD IN LIFE. IF YOU DO BAD HE WILL THROW YOU DOWN TO THE DEVIL HIMSELF. IF YOU DO GOOD AND ALWAYS HAD FAITH AND LOVE HIM, HE WILL KEEP YOU AND YOU MEET THE OTHER ANGELS THAT DIE IN PAST YEARS LIKE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS(OR EVEN CELEBERTIES). THEN YOU CAN FLY AROUND EVERY WHERE ON THE EARTH AND SEE EVERYTHING. YOU CAN GO WHERE EVER YOU WANT AND SEE UP CLOSE AND THE EXIST PEOPLE WON'T KNOW YOUR THERE. YOUR NEW FAMILY IS GOD AND THE ANGELS WHO"VE DIED IN PAST TIMES.

What happens to non-believers after death

Question

November 17, 2005

non-believers are still responsible for their actions once they meet God in heaven. I don't believe everything is exactly as it is in the bible, but I do think that once a person lives within the bounds of common decency then they will be granted eternal life. Stealing a crayon and not being sorry for it isn't a problem. God isn't concerned with trivial things, he only cares that you belive, love and listen to what he has to say, and he says everything that he sees fit through the Bible. That's what faith is. It wouldn't be hard to believe in something that everyone could see. I'm sure you believe in past civilizations right? But you didn't see them so why would you? Nonetheless they certainly existed and surely you believe this. At least don't contradict yourself, that's all I'm asking. One day maybe you'll understand but I sure pray that you won't be some 80 year old religion user who is scared to die so you pretend to believe. If you truly believe that there is no God then I commend you, because anyone that is that brave to take on God deserves credit. The only sad thing about this is, you will lose.

Life is related to energy

Question

November 16, 2005

Hi hows everyone doing, One thing that i know about life is that we're all full of energy, life was created by energy, some call it god, some say it was the big bang some say other wise , well to me it doesnt really matter, i believe that any one who lives in the physical will die in the physical and transform into energy. energy could be antyhing, the definition of energy is
noun: (physics) the capacity of a physical system to do work; the units of energy are joules or ergs
Example: "Energy can take a wide variety of forms". to break down life and death nobody knows what the real answer would ever be. but know that your in control in your life, it doesnt matter if your made out of the only thing that matter is that your here ,nobody had a choice to live or give its self existense we just be, look at it like this its better to live than to have never lived at all.
