There are a number of things you might want to do experimentally with friction. A major area of interest is finding the coefficient of friction for various materials. This includes static sliding, kinetic sliding, rolling and fluid coefficients, for both hard and soft surfaces.
Following are some experiments you can do with friction to either make measurements, verify their properties or to apply those properties to solve some problem.
