Question

Answer

There are an extremely large number of particles that have positive charges, negative charges and no charge in the ground. A charged object will attract those particles that have an opposite charge, thus neutralizing them. Since the Earth is so large, the change in its number of charged particles is not noticed. But the reduction of charged particles in the object is noticeable, as it becomes neutral.
