Mini-Quiz: Electronic Sound Reproduction

by Ron Kurtus (revised 16 February 2002)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. How is music a complex sound?

It depends on the band

It consists of very many frequencies

Reading notes is very complex

2. Why is a good speaker necessary for music?

So you can crank up the volume real loud

Because it lasts much longer

It reproduces sounds more faithfully

3. How does an equalizer work?

It makes all sounds equal

It adjusts the volumes of the different frequencies

It shows lights for different sounds on your stereo system

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Physics. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.

Help others learn more about the characteristics of sound.
