Do animals have souls or it is a myth?
July 5, 2006
hello sir ur web page is very nice and dogmatic
my question is that is there any way that we can expect that animals have souls or it is a myth?
kiran - India (11434)
The first question is whether humans have souls. Although there is no proof of it, most people believe it is true. If humans have souls, then it would seem that animals may have souls too. Some religions are against this, while other religions accept the fact. Religions that believe in reincarnation would say that an animal soul is part of the progression of the soul or spirit.
Just as we cannot prove that humans have souls, we also cannot say for sure that animals have souls. What you believe may be dictated by your religion or what seems to make sense to you.

Is Unity against sex outside of marriage?
May 10, 2006
Hi, I have a good friend who has been a part of the Unity group in Phoenix, AZ. She has encouraged me to attend in NYS. I read some of your info, and see you take the Bible as a guideline. But, what is Unity's position on sex outside of marriage? I do not see that addressed any place on your site. My own belief is that it can be bad, but is not necessarily ...I'm looking forward to your response. Thank You. : )
- USA (11060)
The Unity Church does not have specific positions or rules concerning such areas as sexual behavior. It is a moral issue that individuals must resolve in their own consciences. Since most members of Unity are originally from other religions, I would assume that many would also be against sex outside of marriage.
Prayer is very appropriate for youth
April 10, 2006
I am presently teaching a bible study series to a group of girl 12-17 on the Prayer of Jabez. I think this prayer is very appropriate for youth because it is a prayer that can be easily learned and recalled at any given moment. I also believe that in today's time, youth deal with so many feelings of inadequacy, like Jabez, it helps to identify with another person in the bible who also struggles in their youth.

Thanks for your feedback. The prayer is very positive and a good example for young and old.
Best wishes in your class.
Is there hope for mankind?
April 1, 2006
Both: 1. my ?: What IS the purpose of my life as a Buddhist according to a mo-tivated reasonification? 2: When I was younger, many mistakes were made by my-self & Michael, a good friend of mine that's now dead, however, I then changed as a person, while I lived down here in Chile instead of DK, as a suggestion something that's according to myself free to be taken seriously, so that I can
find out & help myself understand, if there IS any future for us all as ONE mankind, & if so, what it's hopefully all about to be continued, any ?s?
- Chile (10723)
Your religion should point you to the purpose of your life. We all make mistakes in life, and we can then grow and learn from those mistakes.
Hope for mankind can come from individuals seeking to do good and helping others. Every little bit helps to give us a future.
Is Unity Church a Christian church?
March 26, 2006
is the Unity church a "christian " church how to make this judgement? What is the role of the Bible (king Jame, RSV, or any translation) in the Unity Church
victor - USA (10622)
Although the Unity Church considers themselves Christian and tries to follow the example of Christ, it is not Christian in the traditional sense. They do refer to the Bible--both New and Old Testament in their services, and they teach the parables of Christ.
Unity is in between traditional Christian--such as a Protestant Church--and the New Age religions.
Views on life after death
March 13, 2006
I THINK WHAT WILL HAPPEN IS EVERYTHING TURNS WHITE, THEN YOU SEE GOD. ONCE YOUR FACE TO FACE WITH GOD, HE WILL MAKE A DECSION IF YOU DONE MORE GOOD OR BAD IN LIFE. IF YOU DO BAD HE WILL THROW YOU DOWN TO THE DEVIL HIMSELF. IF YOU DO GOOD AND ALWAYS HAD FAITH AND LOVE HIM, HE WILL KEEP YOU AND YOU MEET THE OTHER ANGELS THAT DIE IN PAST YEARS LIKE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS(OR EVEN CELEBERTIES). THEN YOU CAN FLY AROUND EVERY WHERE ON THE EARTH AND SEE EVERYTHING. YOU CAN GO WHERE EVER YOU WANT AND SEE UP CLOSE AND THE EXIST PEOPLE WON'T KNOW YOUR THERE. YOUR NEW FAMILY IS GOD AND THE ANGELS WHO"VE DIED IN PAST TIMES.

Jehovah Witness view on life after death
February 18, 2006
There is proof that from the bible what happens to you after death. And Jehovah does teachs us that after death that it is like a deep sleep and there is no such thing as a buring hell fire because the bibles saids that when we die that "our thought do perish" so that means that we feel nothing think nothing.one more thing our loving father would never burn us in a hell fire because it said in the bible "that God is love" so that right there tells us that a God of love would never burn us in a hell fire. And the bibles also tells us that there are only 144,000 that will be with Jehovah and Jesus in hevan. And if people would take the time to listen and read want the bible say's then you would learn the ture. That is want Jehovah expect of us. So maybe the next time one of Jehovah Wintess knocks on your door you will listen to what Jehovah message is?
- USA (10147)
Thank you for your views from the Bible on life after death. There certainly is controversy on whether people would burn in a hell fire, given that the Bible states that God loves us.
I am not sure where in the Bible it says anything about only 144,000 people will be with Jesus in Heaven. What will happen to all the other people? Also, if that is the belief, it probably means that present-day Jehovah Witnesses will not be able to be there, since there already have been more than 144,000 Witnesses that have lived and died.

Thoughts on Prayer of Jabez
February 9, 2006
Well, as for me, I feel that it is all in the way you perceive the prayer. God speaks to many people as he sees fit. The prayer may be read in one way for me and another to another. The father knows what we need and how we need him to come to us individually. Man may interpret the payer as a way of praying selfishly for riches but I feel that God allowed it to be brought forth in the light for such a time as this that man would interpret it in a manner of asking God to keep us, protect us, to broaden our limitations, and at the same time keep us from evil (vanity, greed, selfishness, and idolatry)as he blesses us with his promises. I believe this prayer is to show us how to prayer for those other things that will be added after seeking his kingdom first; so that we will not fall under the spell of sin such as those things stated above. As some are accustomed to they do not believe in prosperity in a sense if monatory and material blessings, but God blessed many in this way. It is the mindset that causes the sin not the promise. In conclusion I believe that it is the heart of the man that prays this prayer that will determine whether God will answer not the words spoken.

Has differing views on the fate of the soul
January 19, 2006
The problem that so many have with the idea of animals having souls is rooted in their belief in the immortality of the soul. Nowhere in the bible does it ever say the soul is immortal, indestructable or is even seperate from the body. At Gen. 1:20 it says God created swarms of living souls in the water, verse 24 says he created living souls on the earth. The hebrew word that this phrase living souls comes from is "ne'phesh". This word evidently comes from the root meaning "breath" and could be rendered to breath. Interestingly, it is this precise phrase which is used to describe the creation of man at Gen 2:7, which says that man became a living soul. Men were created in God's image in that we have free choice & thinking ability. That does not mean we do not face consequences. The bible also states that if we pursue a life that goes against God's requirement for exclusive devotion we, as living souls would die, would return to the dust from which we were created. Nothing would pass on to an immortal spirit life. It would be as Jesus said of Lazarus, it would like sleeping. We would be conscious of nothing. We would cease to exist. But the bible does not say that this would be the end of it. Jesus said at John 6:28 that he would be given authority to raise people from the dead back to an eartly life, the way God had originally intended humans to live: in a paradise with perfect life. Psalm 37:10,ll states that meek men would inherit the earth.
I know that I have drifted from the topic of animals having souls, but it is important to have the right view of humans having souls too. With this view we can see that science and the bible do agree and that we do have "the same eventuality as beasts"

thanks for your comments and opinion on this matter.
A big problem come with the definition of soul. In some areas of the Bible, soul seems to be a word for person, while in other areas it is talking about the spiritual essence of a person. Some religions say you spirit is what goes to Heaven and your soul is your personality. Others have it the other way around.
There are passages in the Bible referring to eternal damnation, where the spirit or soul of a person would suffer forever. Likewise, access to Heaven would be eternal and forever.
A question I have on the concept of people coming back to live an Earthly life concerns what happens to people who were born with mental and physical defects? Would their new life be with that same body and mind? Or would everyone look and be the same?
Since the Bible refers to God looking after the animals, perhaps He would have a place for them after they die a physical death.
Beloved adopted son passed away
January 15, 2006
My adopted son and I were closer to each other than almost any Mother and son can be. On October 29th, '05 he unexpectedly died from a liver disease he had. He was 42 years old when he died. He was full of love, life, unbelievable talent in art, cooking, and knowledge in many fields.
I strongly feel and know his spirit is with me a lot of the time. To give you an example of this, when I went back into his room where I found him lying on the floor almost 10 hours after he died and was standing there sobbing... (This was one month to the day after he had passed away),it was only a minute or two later when I could tell he turned my shoulders and had me go back up the steps from his apartment area.
I would have stayed there a lot longer, but he never wanted me to cry. When I was first there that evening I just told you about, through my crying I asked him if he had wanted me to be there with him when he died and he related to me that his answer was both yes and no; yes because he loved me so deeply and no because he did not want me to be upset and cry.
Also, when I get my crying spells over losing him, I feel his spirit is with me and he calms me before he leaves. I cannot see him, but I am positive I feel his presence. When he turned me around and made me go back up the steps that evening, I can only describe it being something like a slight wind or in a way, a gentle breeze that was moving me.
The minister at the church to which my husband and I both belong, believes I am aware of his spirit being with me. In other research I have done, I have read that: "The soul is man's horizontal view with the world.
The spirit is man's vertical view with God. It is important to understand that both refer to the immaterial part of man, but only the 'spirit' refers to the man's walk with God. The 'soul' refers to man's walk in the world, both material and immaterial." (www.gotquestions.org/soul-spirit.html)
I would now like to ask you: 1. Do you believe my son is relating to me even though he is not alive? 2. If you agree, do you feel it is his spirit or his soul which is relating to me?
Thank you for responding to me.
Fay - USA (9672)
I'm sorry to hear that your adopted son passed away, and I sympathize with your loss of such a loved one. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this loss.
There seems to be a variety of opinions about the difference between the spirit and soul, or if there really is a difference between them.
But you certainly seem to be experiencing his essence, whether it is his spirit or soul. You can be thankful of that. Often, before you fall asleep at night, you can say a prayer and feel he is receiving his thoughts.

What happens to non-believers after death
November 17, 2005
non-believers are still responsible for their actions once they meet God in heaven. I don't believe everything is exactly as it is in the bible, but I do think that once a person lives within the bounds of common decency then they will be granted eternal life. Stealing a crayon and not being sorry for it isn't a problem. God isn't concerned with trivial things, he only cares that you belive, love and listen to what he has to say, and he says everything that he sees fit through the Bible. That's what faith is. It wouldn't be hard to believe in something that everyone could see. I'm sure you believe in past civilizations right? But you didn't see them so why would you? Nonetheless they certainly existed and surely you believe this. At least don't contradict yourself, that's all I'm asking. One day maybe you'll understand but I sure pray that you won't be some 80 year old religion user who is scared to die so you pretend to believe. If you truly believe that there is no God then I commend you, because anyone that is that brave to take on God deserves credit. The only sad thing about this is, you will lose.

Life is related to energy
November 16, 2005
Hi hows everyone doing, One thing that i know about life is that we're all full of energy, life was created by energy, some call it god, some say it was the big bang some say other wise , well to me it doesnt really matter, i believe that any one who lives in the physical will die in the physical and transform into energy. energy could be antyhing, the definition of energy is
noun: (physics) the capacity of a physical system to do work; the units of energy are joules or ergs
Example: "Energy can take a wide variety of forms". to break down life and death nobody knows what the real answer would ever be. but know that your in control in your life, it doesnt matter if your made out of the only thing that matter is that your here ,nobody had a choice to live or give its self existense we just be, look at it like this its better to live than to have never lived at all.
stephen - USA (8980)
Thanks for your feedback and thoughts on the possibility of life after death. And it is true that we should live our lives to the fullest.
