Hebrew text Genesis 1-24 states animals have souls
June 20, 2005
In the interlinear bible in the Hebrew text Genesis 1-24 it states
And God said let the earth bring forth the soul of life according to its kind
cattle, creepers, and its beasts of the earth according to its kind and it was so. If the origional Hebrew bible is accurate there seems to be truth to animals having a soul, what do you think about this scripture?
Thank you for your answer and may God bless you.
Rev Raymond - USA (7329)
That certainly is an indication that animals have souls.
Perhaps some people try to justify ill-treatment of animals by saying they have no souls.
Belief about reincarnation
June 17, 2005
What is Unity's belief about reincarnation? Which part of the Christian/metaphysical equation is more predominent?
Susan - USA (7297)
Unity's definition of a soul is that it is somewhat an extension of God. Although they do not encourage belief in reincarnation, many followers of the religion have that belief.
I'm not sure I understand your second question.
Question about zakat
June 12, 2005
Salam wa aleikoum:
I have a ? about a Zaket. I have about $50K in a stock and about 40K in a retirement accounts. Do I give Zaket on both account?
Also I have about 70K in savings. What do I do with the interest?
- USA (7246)
Zakat is usually related to accumplated wealth within a year. This includes interest and income from this year but not savings from previous years. Unless zakat is to collected by officials, it is usually helping the needy according to an individual's conscience.
Not sure about a kitty heaven
June 11, 2005
My Fiance had to put her cat to sleep and she was under the assumption that there was a kitty heaven. I told her that cats don't have souls, but then check out some internet sites and found that my view wasn't totally accurate. I found out that there are probably animals in heaven and that they won't attack you because they aren't living in sin. I also know that God ca do ALL things and it is possible for Him if it is His will to have your pet in heaven. I'm not saying that He will, but He most definitely can!
Jesse - USA (7239)
Thanks for sharing your ideas. Since animals like cats have personalities, can show affection and such, it is hard to believe they are just complex machines with no spirit in them. But no one knows for sure what happens after their death. Some religions believe that animals (and humans) come back as another create. Others believe there is a special place for them or that they are part of Heaven. Since we don't know for sure, it is probably best to think of the positive in that God has a special place for all His creatures.
Quotes from Bible
May 29, 2005
We have a spirit a soul and a body may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1Thes5:23)
Our spirit is our heart, it's who we are.(not the physical heart) Its the essence of our being. The spirit was formed by God in us.(Zech 12:1)
our soul was created and is coming with sin that entered through Adams soul.(Romans 5:12-21)that you will see later in my explanation.
But now about the creation. Gen 2:7(KJV), And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath[neshwamaw] (breath, wind, spirit) of life; and man became a living soul.
Our soul is dependant on the past generations, God created the soul only once, in Adam and then the second human being, Eve was created out of his rib(bones are a symbol of the soul Psalm 6:2-3,Psalm 35:9-10,
(Prov 3:8)the heart stands for the spirit and bones for the soul.
Now Eve was made out of Adams rib which is symbolically saying about Adams soul from wich Eves soul was created.
(Gen. 2:20-24 )
And so now all the souls were being affected by the sins of past generations and created one soul out of the other. First sin from Adam was passed down next generations...
"Just as through one man sin and death entered the world and death spread to everybody because all sinned in Adam and his sin was imputed to them, so also through one man Jesus Christ, righteousness entered the world and life through righteousness, and life spread to all who are in Christ because his righteousness is imputed to them."(Romans 5:12-21)
but the reason Christ,(His spirit), came into a soul and flesh was to make a new perfect soul in this cycle and add other souls to it.
“Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.”(1 John 5:5-6)
water here is the symbol of the spirit and the blood of the soul
because the blood, it is the nefesh (soul) -- and you should not eat the nefesh with the flesh. (Deut 12:23)
Now what happened with Jesus on the cross? (John19:34) pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. (spirit and soul remember?) and in verse 36 they didn’t break his bones as it was also prophesied. what do the bones stand for? yes the soul.
and now everyone who is baptized in the name of the Father, the Son,and the Holy Spirit will be added(it's an action, not just symbolism) to the body of Christ(here it means that we will be connected to his soul and that’s why we drink communion blood and flesh, because we are added to the body of Christ, soul and flesh (and when I say "we" I mean each individual spirit. Our spirits living in our souls and bodies)
Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one
This is after we are baptized.
Now this doesnt mean that you dont have individual
spirit with its free will
I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life.
Now a little bit about the qualities of the spirit.
Now the spirit can be lightened and darkened...we can be more like God
or more like Satan.
And Jesus said this talking about our spirit...
Matt 6:22"The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
and other symbols for our spirits.(cold, hot, lukewarm)
Revelation 3:16, 19 "So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold,
I will spit you out of My mouth.
All of you know what it is like to be lukewarm
when you are not yet mature person...
thank you for enduring this..have fun learning more bible with this knowlidge. It will help in many places, you will see, even in everyday life you will notice new understnding.

White dove flew into window
May 23, 2005
my mother-in-law is in the hosptal, it was raining, and a white dove hit her window. she said thats not good. i told her it was a good sign. i cant find anything on line. my mother said its god. it could mean hes there with her in a good way healing, or he may take her. if you know please let me know......
Jo Ann - USA (7052)
Usually a white dove symbolizes something good. If it was a black crow, then the sign is something bad.
Views on God
May 20, 2005
Consider how often various religion say "God is One" or "God is Eternal".
If you are one and you do view yourself as a unit as the first aspect of abrstraction or the use of your mind; then you are ONE and YOU ARE GOD.
One more step down the line of early mathematics has such pronouncements as "One is All" or the venoration in which early thinkers held numbers and even knowledge of numbers. Go to the geometry of dimensions to find the final steps to Dimensionalism. You are God and upon your death a fourth dimensional motioin (turning inside out) is performed on your soul/mind and you know all "omniscience", see all "omnipresent and are "omnipotent". These are all aspects claimed for God but they are also applicable to Numbers.
Numbers are God and you are One.
Paul - USA (7030)
Thanks for your views on the subject. There is more to it than meets the eye.
Arguing with a Jehavah's Witness on soul
May 14, 2005
Is it true when we die, that our soul, is exerted from our body, into whatever form that may be, and raised up to God for that final judgement? Depending on how we were in our previous life, we are cast into Hell or invited into God's kingdom. Because I have a friend that is a Jehovah's Witness, and she belives that we are selves are a soul, and that when we die we just slumber until we are ressurected and judged. I just wanted to know if she is nuts or what. Thank you for considering my question.
Eric - USA (6973)
Just about everyone believes that we have a soul and lives afer death, but different religions have their own views of exactly what happens. Some believe they are judged immediately after the body dies, while others believe there isa final judgement day years from now. The problem is that neither you nor your friend who is a Jehovah's Witness can really prove what will happen. It is up to God.
So let he have her beliefs and you can believe what you think is correct. Neither of you can change the other person's mind or beliefs. And God will do the judging.
What does life force mean?
April 22, 2005
I have no allegiance to any organized religion yet I "believe" in some kind of supreme being. I wonder if the soul could be called a life force that has control over material or inanimate matter i.e. atoms. Humans procreate when a living cell (life force plus matter) combines with another living cell and a new human begins to grow. I can't see the life force hatched elsewhere in some godly factory and then introduced to its new body. I also can't see the life force jumping from new body to new body until some sort of perfection is achieved. I see the combining of two cells and the life forces in those cells as a new life force and body that will grow to an individual adult and also procreating one day. Following this link backwards I would come to some single celled organism ancestor of mine millions of years ago to which I wonder where it came from. It may also mean that all life on earth is connected. I wonder.
Peter - Canada (6737)
I don't believe that the expression "life force" is intended to mean the soul has control over inanimate matter. Rather it is what differentiates a machine from a living organism. There is "something" that allows a cell to be alive. I think the word "force" is not the best term.
Some people believe that all living beings are part of one spiritual essence or soul. Others believe that when a person is born, it is given a soul or a soul is created from the birth. And still others believe there is another dimension of souls or spirits and you are a spirit having a human experience.
Great-grandmother has just passed away
April 16, 2005
helo my name is chelsea,
i am 12 years old and my great grandmother has just past away.
recently i have been very curious and mixed up about how you die! i have some concerns that i would like to discuss...
there are things in the past that i just have realized things that could lead me to believe in an afterlife
even though i was raised as a christian i am starting to believe that you were once someone (a different person/human) before you were born.
there are some signs like if you go someplace that you have never been before but you think you have been there and its like you saw this place before but you really didnt.. its weird me my mom and my brother have all said we have experianced it! and its not daishavoo i no its not you might think im wierd but this is what i think.... maybe there is a real god and maybe there is a such thing as a heaven or a hell! but there could also be a such thing as people moving there souls onto new generations... i mean no one will ever no right? do you think im weird or have you had things like this brought to your attention could you please please write back as soon as possible?
Thank You so much !
im doing this for my great grandmother please!
chelsea - USA (6682)
One concept many have is that we are all spirits who are having a human experience. Although many Christian religions don't believe in reincarnation or coming back again to experience another life, there is nothing in the Bible that says it is not possible. Many Christians and people from other religions also believe it is possible that we come back to live other lives.
Deja vu is seeing something that you may have seen before--usually in a dream. One idea is that people can sometimes sense future events, and deja vu is an example of that. This may relate to having past and future lives. It is all something to ponder.
I'm sure your great-grandmother is in peace and hoping for a new life.
Giving a speech on life after death
April 12, 2005
Hi... i have a question for you,,my name is saeed and iam 14 and iam doing my speech on After Life? most ppl say that is a hard topic but i find it very intresting. i wanted to know what you believe and if i could qoaute you in my speech and also if u have any ideas what i should include in my speech.. i would be really helpfull if u returne my e-mail could u plz put urname onit agian and thank you
Saeed - Canada (6639)
Since there is no real proof of life after death, each person must use their own religious belief as a guide. I certainly believe that people have a spirit or soul beyond their physical body and that there is some sort of life after death. Otherwise we are just complex machines. Also, there world is so complex that God must have set that up for us.
I hope that helps in your speech.
I am 8 years old and worried about death
March 28, 2005
I don't feel good about death. It is holding me back from a lot of things. Can you help reassure me that death is ok. I am 8 years old and I am freaked out.
Lynne - Canada (6465)
You have a long life ahead of you. When you get to be 80 years old, then you can worry about death. In the meanwhile, take care of your health, try to learn a lot and enjoy your life. You are given the opportunity to experience all sorts of interesting things. So, take advantage of the experience. Then, when you get to be 80 years old, you can look back and say, "That was an interesting life."
Is there really a heaven?
March 15, 2005
Is there really a heaven? When a person dies do they look down upon us?
margaret - Canada (6346)
Most people believe there is some sort of life after death. Some believe a person goes to Heaven, while others feel the soul comes back as another person.
When a person dies, his or her spirit could look down on us. But it is not known if the spirit is in one place or is everywhere.
So much of it is unknown. Various religions have their own interpretations and explanations that they believe.
God is 1
March 3, 2005
THIS NUMBER THAT YOURE SEARCHING FOR IS, GOD IS NUMBER 1.
IN THE BEGINING WAS GOD<1>.
I HAVE DONE A EXTENSIVE NUMBER REASEARCH OVER MANY YEARS. THERE IS AN END TO NUMBERS.1
NUMBERS HAVE MEANINGS 10 IS GODS RIGHTNESS REVEALED IN MAN.
SO WHEN WE ARE AT NUMBER NINE, WE EITHER STOP AND DEATH CLAIMS US, OR 1 IS ADDED BY GOD. AFTER THAT THER IS NO OTHER NUMBERS, ONLY REPETITION.
BILL - USA (6204)
Thanks for your interesting interpretation.
