Mini-Quiz: Avoid Meaningless Fillers when Speaking

by Ron Kurtus (31 May 2015)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. What is wrong with saying "um" or "ah" when speaking?

It makes it sound like you aren't sure of what you are saying

You should never use both in the same sentence

Only use the expressions if they are included in the script

2. What is wrong with saying "you know" in every sentence?

There is nothing wrong to make sure the person knows

It disrupts what you are trying to say

It should only be used in every other sentence

3. What help is it if a friend or spouse catches you saying meaningless words?

It gets you irritated and flustered

It makes them feel as if they are helping

It helps remind you not to say such words

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a champion in speaking. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.
