Mini-Quiz: Importance of Excellence in Technical Writing

by Ron Kurtus (revised 26 April 2005)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. Why isn't "good enough" good enough?

There isn't the satisfaction of doing your best

If it satisfies the requirements, it is good enough

You may end up with extra time on your hands

2. What does completing a tough assignment on time do for you?

It gets the "monkey off your back"

It gives you confidence in doing the same or better the next time

It is not a good idea, because then they will expect it

3. Suppose you did your best but the boss criticizes your work?

Try to do better the next time, but also don't let him drag you down

Tell him he doesn't know what he is talking about

Realize that you aren't as good as you thought

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Technical Writing. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.

Walk tall and be proud of your work
