by Ron Kurtus (12 January 2007)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. Why does the royalty rate go up with increased sales?

The publisher's initial risk factor is reduced with increased sales

The book becomes more expensive as the demand goes up

To encourage the writer to write more books

2. Why is the royalty so small for trade books?

Trade book authors will usually accept what they get

The type is usually smaller in these books, making them more expensive

Trade book sales are usually small, thus there is more risk

3. Why do mass market paperback sell more?

They are often sold in supermarkets and other places besides bookstores

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Writing. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.
