Possible solution to disease

Topic: Polar Molecules

January 23, 2021

I'm a retired thinker

I'm trying to track the right kind of antivirus to let loose on the corona virus and kill or neutralize

I wonder if there's an approach which assembles negative components or molecules in an antivirus which will attack and neutralize the corona virus

like on tv when the blue enzymes gobble up all the red ones

I have imagined a man made virus which has all the opposite electric elements to the cv and when they meet just neutralizes the harmful virus immediately

imagine tankers spraying this stuff all through infected countries to knock out the cv

Am I on the right track following your analysis of molecules and componentry down to brass tacks?

Gerald - New Zealand

It is good that you are thinking of possible ways to stop the corona virus. Unfortunately, I don't know much about how the virus works or even how the vaccines counter these highly complex molecules.

It might be worthwhile to contact local medical research facilities or vaccine producers to see if they are interested in your ideas.

Best wishes for success in your work and research. Perhaps your ideas can help stop this nasty disease.

Preparation of nitrogen gas

Topic: Nitrogen

Am in need of preparation of nitrogen gas

Samson - South Sudanese

Nitrogen gas is prepared in the laboratory by heating the mixture of ammonium chloride and sodium nitrite in the ratio of 1:1.

I hope that helps.

Chemistry project

Topic: Similar to Baking

December 21, 2018

Hi Ron,

I and a friend are doing a project on how baking is similar to chemistry, and we found a lot of great information on your website. Can you recommend us any other resources or websites to help us in our project? Thank you so much!

Daillin and - Canada

Take a look at our Chemistry Resources for a listing of places to get more information.

Best wishes for success in your project. Let me know how things turn out.

How can oxygen mix in water?

Topic: Polar Molecules

October 26, 2018

Water is a polar molecule and oxygen is a non polar molecule ..For aquatic animals they have to get oxygen from water with gills ..Then we can say oxygen mixes with water to from a solution ..How does a non polar solvant mixes with a polar solvation? ??

Uday - India

Oxygen molecules can actually slip between the network of water molecules into “pockets” that exist in-between H2O molecules. For a complex explanation see: Predicting oxygen solubility in water.

Finding pure nitrogen

Topic: Nitrogen

August 25, 2018

Dear sir/madam
My question is there any way to find that there is other material or products are in pure nitrogen.

Ben - USA

In any method of obtaining "pure" nitrogen, there are always some impurities. A primary method to find out if there are impurities and what they are is by heating the gas and using a spectrometer to see the composition of the material. Each element has a distinct spectral signature.

Biological importance of nitrogen

Topic: Uses of Nitrogen

March 17, 2018

i've project under title :"Elements of the nitrogen group."
can you plaese give me the Biological importance of this elements please .
please send the answer to my email address
and thank you

sarra - Algeria

Nitrogen is a component of amino acids and urea. Amino acids are the building blocks of all proteins. Proteins comprise not only structural components such as muscle, tissue and organs, but also enzymes and hormones essential for the functioning of all living things. Urea is a byproduct of protein digestion.
