Mini-Quiz: Energy from Gravity for Objects Projected Upward

by Ron Kurtus (updated 29 May 2023)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. What happens to the potential energy when an object hits the ground?

It becomes infinity

It does not vary

It becomes zero

2. Why does an object have an inital KE when you project it upward?

It has an initial velocity that causes the KE

No one is certain why that happens

The initial KE helps to compensate a lack of PE

3. What happens at the maximum height when an object is projected upward?

The KE equals the PE

The KE becomes zero and the PE relates to that height

The KE and the PE interchange values

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Physics. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.
