by Ron Kurtus (revised 29 November 2017)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. Why is the occasion important in determining your subject matter?

It will affect what clothes you wear

Occasion is not as important as what you know

Audience expectations are determined by the occasion

2. What is important in determining the subject of your speech?

What the audience interests are

Whether you had even spoken to the group before

How much time you have to write the speech

3. Why should you narrow down the subject matter?

Covering too many points can dilute your message

You should not give more than you will be paid

It depends on your mood

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Speech Writing. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.

Be positive in your approach
