GE Astro Space Engineering Process Improvement
by Ron Kurtus
General Electric (GE) Astro Space Division implemented Total Quality Management (TQM) to improve their engineering processes in 1989. At the time, they called their program "Work Out!"
Several years later, GE adopted the Six-Sigma approach, what was a refinement of their process improvement methods. Although done years ago, the presentation still provides a good outline for implementing TQM in your organization.
Questions you may have include:
- What was GE's TQM strategy for the 1990s?
- Why type of results did they get from their efforts?
- What did their Process Improvement Teams do?
This lesson will answer those questions.
